BWG’s Thuper-Thpooky Halloween Countdown

#2: “Circus of Horror,” Quiet Village. (From the debut album Silent Movie, 2008.) Looking forward to hearing more scary/funky jams from this loosely-joined British duo.

#4: “Werewolf,” Five Man Electrical Band. Remember “Signs?” (And the sign said, long-haired freaky people…) Well, this is one of the Canadian quintet’s lesser ’70s hits. I remember it as a deep cut on one of those K-Tel compilations. Personally, I wanna hear a sequel: “Werewolf 2 (Billy’s Revenge).”

Pocket Idol - Live Acoustic

Kris Allen performs his GREAT single, “Live Like We’re Dying,” at the Bosom Ball Soundcheck Party in Cincinnati. Nice breath control on the chorus, K-Sizzle!

Balloon Boy — The Song

For a rush job, it’s rather catchy.

Inspired by the B52s?

Actually, “Hayloft,” the new single by Vancouver quintet Mother Mother, splits the difference between Fred Schneider’s wacky gang and Devo. Whatever. We love the retro-’80s surf guitar and the (literally) ga-ga chorus. All that’s missing is Schneider’s bray.
